Новосадским „договором“ из 1954. године започет је процес искорењивања ћирилице и њено замењивање хрватском латиницом. Средства за постизање тог циља су насиље и подваљивање, које има три фазе: прва фаза је подвала о „равноправности писама и богатству двоазбучја“; друга фаза је подвала о „српској латиници“ која је у току; а трећа фаза ће бити подвала „Срби никад нису ни користили ћирилицу“, и примениће се кад „покрет за србистику“ процени да је дошло време за то.
